CRITERIA FOR POSITION – TEAM MANAGER
- An advertisement for expressions of interest for the role will be published on Sydney Scorpions website and social media platforms
- All Team Manager positions will be appointed at the discretion of Sydney Scorpions Executive Committee after initial consultation of the appointed Head Coach
- The position will be declared vacant at completion of representative tournament for which it was appointed (e.g. NTL, Junior Regionals, NYC)
- Must adhere to the Sydney Scorpions Selection Policy, Code of Conduct and applicable policies and guidelines at all times including any NSWTA and TFA requirements
- Must possess good written and oral skills and communicate effectively with the committee, the coaching team and players
- Able to demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure whilst achieving objectives
- Must submit a valid WWC and Play by the Rules certificate/reference number with their nomination
- As part of this process, it is a requirement that all prospective Team Managers demonstrate the ability to work within the Sydney Scorpions policies, procedures and philosophies (e.g. club culture requirements)
- A high degree of initiative and organisational ability
- Mature judgement and capacity to accept responsibility
- Good inter personal relationship skills
- The ability to work well under pressure whilst still achieving objectives
- Accept responsibility to ensure your players qualify for the event that they are taking part in representing Sydney Scorpions
- Head Coach will be appointed prior to the Team Manager, thus enabling the Head Coach to have some input into their Team Manager
STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Prior to the Event:
- To manage the team to which the appointment was made
- To liaise with team management and the committee regarding administrative matters
- Assisting in ensuring the conduct of the team is beyond reproach
- Assisting in ensuring all players meet eligibility criteria
- Ensure clear communication within appointed team (e.g. via Social Media, WhatsApp, Messenger, Email, SportsYou, etc.)
- Co-ordinate and collect all financial monies on behalf of the Sydney Scorpions Finance Director
- Ensure all members are financial prior to the final team announcement
- Non-financial members are to be withdrawn prior to final team announcement or have a committee approved payment plan
- Assist coaching staff in all administration duties
- Adhere to Sydney Scorpions HPU policies and guidelines
- Ensure all members are registered by expected due dates
- Ensure all apparel (including uniforms and off-field gear) requirements are lodged by the expected due date and assist with apparel distribution
- Assist in gathering team accommodation requirements including room allocations where team accommodation is included
During & Post Event:
- Ensure game/tournament HPU recovery protocol is adhered to (e.g. ice baths, massage, etc)
- To work with the Head Coach to ensure game/tournament HPU preparation protocol including suggested nutrition is adhered to

- Ensure water bottles are full and encourage usage
- Water buckets and sweat towels are cool and ready in the sub box
- Monitor game scores and keep a scorecard
- Monitor tournament changes and administration matters and ensure to address to team
- Monitor injuries and schedule with the Medical team if and when required
- Provide the Medical team a schedule of when ice baths are required
- Post event follow-up should there be any outstanding financial matters including approved payment plans
