STATEMENT OF DUTIES

  1. The position will be appointed at the Annual General Meeting (every 2 years, currently even numbered years)
  2. The position is accountable for accurate reporting of financial results and managing the organisations financial affairs
  3. Managing the financial reporting for the organisation including monthly financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  4. To keep an accurate and timely record of the financial affairs of the region by providing sound financial support and insights to enable the organisation to make critical business decisions
  5. Presentation of financial results and insights to the executive committee
  6. Play a key role in the formulation of the organisations business strategy
  7. Managing and overseeing the taxation affairs of the organisation and liaising with the external tax firm for specialist advice
  8. Managing and overseeing the cash flow of the organisation and ensuring it has the appropriate treasury controls
  9. Managing the External Auditor relationship and ensuring the organisation is compliant with accounting standards
  10. Managing and overseeing the organisation banking and borrowing arrangements
  11. Managing and overseeing the organisations financial systems, including Xero
  12. Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, Financial and Management Accounting functions
  13. Risk Management to ensure the business has a solid risk framework exists
  14. Overseeing commercial decision making from tender analysis, margin analysis, pricing analysis etc
  15. Advising and implementing best practice methods to increase revenue and reduce costs
  16. Managing and tracking budget and accounting information including billing, collections, and tax information
  17. To complete reporting requirements for the AGM
  18. To work within the NSWTA Financial Operations Procedures
  19. Liaise with NSWTA regarding reimbursement of claimable expenses covered by the approved development budget on a quarterly basis
  20. Where applicable manage any appointed book keeper / administrative person
  21. Adhere to all duties as outlined by NSWTA
  22. Possess an understanding of MS Excel and Xero financial systems
