2018: Cancer Council via Angus & The Beefcakes Shitbox Rally – (NTL Dinner)
$1700.00 raised
Donation made to Steve Cunningham
Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,000, over a 7 day across Australia endeavour to raise money for cancer research. The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends. Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.”
2017: Premier League Inclusion League – (Junior Regional Dinner)
$930.00 raised
Donation made to Touch Football Premier League Inclusion League
At our 2017 Junior Regional Dinner at Ballina, Sydney Scorpions members and parents raised money for the Touch Football Premier League Inclusion League. Well it’s taken some time however we finally got the opportunity to spend the funds on two fantastic Sydney Scorpions kits for the Hills & Manly Inclusion Touch teams. The teams will be playing against each other in their Scorpions gear during this coming NRL Round 24, on Thursday 23rd August before the Tigers vs Sea Eagles match at Campbelltown Stadium. We hope all players enjoy the evening which is being billed as the Scorpion Cup and we are told the players will cherish their Scorpions shirts! Many thanks to Graeme Clancy from Touch Football Specialised Inc. and also Garry Sonda from Struddys on assisting with the gear. Australian Women’s Open representative Sam Rodgers was on-hand to present the shirts to the players.
