Sydney Scorpions NYC Update & Juniors Information Pack – 5 August 2020
NYC Update & Juniors Information Pack 050820

In light of today’s announcement by the Queensland Premier to re-close the borders to NSW and ACT, Sydney Scorpions Executive Committee have made the decision to withdraw from the 2020 National Youth Championship event.

Whilst this is disappointing, we feel it is the right decision to be made taking into consideration the uncertainty of when the borders may re-open.

Scorpions believe it is important for their junior teams to continue training for both positive mental health benefits and further touch football development as we continue to plan for alternate opportunities.

Competitive game options for all our 8 junior teams are outlined within the information pack below . These games will ideally take place over the coming months.

Thanking you for your continued support.

Sydney Scorpions 2020 AGM Update

Sydney Scorpions 2020 Annual General Meeting took place on Monday 3 August, 2020.  Thank you to all who attended including Dean Russell from NSWTA.

In what has been a very challenging year, we also received the sad news with the passing of NSWTA and Sydney Scorpions Life Member Gary Croft. Gary’s memory will live fondly in the hearts and minds of all within our region and beyond.

A highlight of the year was the NTL Scorpions Dinner in March 2020, where our two All Abilities teams attended enjoying the evening and the spot-light attention.  The night was also highlighted by the addition of three Hall of Fame inductees plus the newly introduced Heath Cooper Medal for 20 years Playing Service.

Sydney Scorpions committee would like to thank Tim Kitchingham who has stepped down from the Executive Committee and Finance Director role.  Kitch has given his beloved Scorps more than 15 years of outstanding service, a highlight of which being the proud recipient of the Rod Wise Medal as NSWTA Volunteer of the Year.  Kitch also hands over the Regional Merchandise Manager role to the capable hands of Michelle Geros.
